There have been some interesting developments in my acting career in July 2016. I had a national network State Farm commercial begin running and shot an independent film in the Bronx with James Earl Jones and David Spade called “Warning Shot”. Also shot a lovely Independent in Lawrence, Kansas called “The Dreams of Rene Sendham.” But, more importantly, I spent four glorious weeks in rehearsal for a new play called “God Looked Away.” It Is the story of a badly debilitated Tennessee Williams’ last play “A House Not Meant To Stand” . It was written by Williams’ long- time companion Datson Rader. He was present during the rehearsal process. We did three performances at the Macha Theater in West Hollywood last week. Williams was played beautifully by Al Pacino. Judith Light played his long- time confidante. I portrayed Willams’ theatrical producer Peter. The play may go to Broadway in April 2017.
I share this with you for a mercenary reason. The enrollment needs to increase at the Studio in order for us to remain viable. So, if you wish to start or continue this unique study of Choiceless Awareness and how it nurtures your creativity please join us. The proof of the pudding is in the tasting. No other acting teacher in the country had the kind of July I had. Even I want to study with me. -East
The Steve Eastin Acting Studio has a twenty year history of developing powerful actors. Steve’s students have appeared in thousands of feature films, television shows and commercials. The approach to acting taught at the Studio is very different from traditional training. It is the knowledge you don’t get in college or other conventional acting schools. It is based in the avant garde approach known as “choiceless awareness” first championed by legendary director John Cassavettes, and now used by such directors as Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Brian DePalma and Ridley Scott. The Steve Eastin Studio is an acting school designed for the working actor. All classes are taught by Steve, who was named one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood history in 2012 by The Internet Movie Data base www.imdb.com. It is also perfect for the beginning actor. All work is done on camera in extreme close up. The Studio is located in the heart of the motion picture industry, adjacent to the famed Warner Brothers lot in Burbank. Students are primarily from the Los Angeles area, but many have come from as far away as Switzerland, Japan, Hungary, Australia and England to study with Steve.
